Boutique owner and philathropist
Sonji R. Monroe was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Sonji worked for Barnett Bank (now Bank of America) for 13 years and became AVP of their Dealer Financial Services department. After relocating to Los Angeles and then to Miami she returned to Jacksonville, Florida and took a job as a Senior Account Manager at CSX Transportation. Soon after returning to Jacksonville, she met and later married her now husband James Monroe and they have a son (Alex). In 2005, she moved to Atlanta as a newlywed after her husband received a promotion that required him to relocate here. She became a stay at home mom for 7 years after the birth of their son. During that time, she volunteered at schools by helping children with reading and math.
In 2012, she decided to fulfill a childhood dream and opened a ladies clothing boutique (Speaking Pieces Boutique) located in McDonough, GA. In 2021, the boutique will celebrate 9 years in business. Sonji has become a well known stylist who focuses on building confidence from the inside out when working with her clients. She joined PCAHC Board in 2020.
