Dy-Anne Penn moved to Henry County in Fall 2019. She is originally from Christiansburg, Virginia and retired from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles after 27 years of service. Despite being officially retired since 2003, Dy-Anne continued to stay busy, working for the City of DeLand in DeLand Florida, the West Virginia Department of Corrections and as an independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. She attended Radford University where she was a Marketing and Retail Major and had a Saturday Morning Radio program.
Dy-Anne has always given back to the community. She served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Skyline Girl Scouts for 4 years and the Virginia State NAACP Youth Council Board of Directors. In West Virginia, Dy-Anne attended Calvary Baptist Church, where she made mats for their Mission Team to give to children in Haiti and arranged for books to be sent to Jamaica. While living in Tennessee, she volunteered through Fullview Missionary Baptist Church to gather infant items for local mothers, traveled on three mission trips to the Dominican Republic and was part of the Kairos Prison Outreach Team that ministered to female prisoners.
Dy-Anne currently attends Luella Baptist Church. She believes the youth are our future and we must invest time in their development so they can carry on and become citizens who serve their community.
